Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Mtila Safaris! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your booking, travel, and interaction with Mtila Safaris. By making a booking with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Booking & Payment

1.1 Booking Confirmation

  • A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total safari cost.

  • The balance must be paid 60 days before the start of your safari unless otherwise agreed in writing.

1.2 Methods of Payment

We accept:

  • Bank Transfers

  • Mobile money (e.g., M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa)

  • Credit cards (subject to a surcharge)

All payments must be made in USD or Tanzanian Shillings unless otherwise agreed.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

2.1 Cancellation by Client

Cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds (excluding deposit) are given as follows:

  • 60+ days before safari: 70% refund

  • 30–59 days before safari: 50% refund

  • 15–29 days before safari: 25% refund

  • Less than 15 days: No refund

2.2 Cancellation by Mtila Safaris

We reserve the right to cancel a safari due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters, safety concerns, or non-payment). In such cases, a full refund or rescheduling will be offered.

3. Travel Insurance

All clients are required to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • Medical emergencies

  • Evacuation

  • Personal liability

  • Loss of luggage or property

  • Trip cancellation

Proof of insurance may be requested before travel.

4. Health & Safety

  • It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they are in good health and fit for travel.

  • We recommend visiting a health professional for advice on vaccinations and malaria prophylaxis before traveling to Tanzania.

  • Mtila Safaris is not liable for any health-related issues or incidents.

5. Visas & Passports

Clients are responsible for obtaining valid travel documents:

  • A valid passport (at least 6 months validity)

  • A visa to enter Tanzania (can be obtained online or on arrival)

Failure to provide proper documentation may result in denied entry, with no refund.

6. Safari Inclusions & Exclusions

6.1 Included in Safari Price:

  • Accommodation as specified

  • Park entrance fees

  • Game drives and activities as per itinerary

  • Professional guide/driver services

  • Meals as specified

6.2 Not Included:

  • International flights

  • Visa fees

  • Travel insurance

  • Personal expenses (e.g., laundry, drinks, tips)

  • Optional activities not specified in the itinerary

7. Itinerary Changes

  • While we strive to follow the itinerary, Mtila Safaris reserves the right to alter the schedule, accommodations, or transportation due to availability, weather, or safety concerns.

  • No refunds will be given for any unused services or changes made for client safety or logistical reasons.


8. Liability & Responsibility

  • Mtila Safaris shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, or death arising from acts of God, war, civil unrest, accidents, or negligence by third parties.

  • We act only as an agent for hotels, airlines, and other service providers and are not responsible for their performance.

  • Clients must follow all safety instructions given by guides. Failure to comply may result in termination of the safari without refund.

9. Children & Family Travel

  • Children are welcome on safaris. Special child rates may apply depending on the age.

  • Parents/guardians are fully responsible for the supervision and safety of their children throughout the safari.

10. Wildlife & Environment

  • Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed as animals are in their natural habitat.

  • We promote eco-friendly travel. Clients are expected to respect park rules, avoid littering, and not disturb wildlife.

11. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

  • Any complaints should be reported immediately to your guide or our office.

  • If unresolved, complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the safari’s end.

  • Disputes will be governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

12. Photography & Media

  • Mtila Safaris may take photographs and video during tours. These may be used for promotional purposes unless clients opt out in writing.

  • Clients are responsible for respecting park rules regarding photography (e.g., no drones in national parks).

13. Force Majeure

Mtila Safaris shall not be held liable for failure or delay in performance due to events beyond our control including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, political unrest, or government restrictions.

14. Amendments to Terms

Mtila Safaris reserves the right to revise these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. Updated terms will be posted on our website.
