Tour Plan

Day 1: Travel to Kigoma
  • Catch an early bus (around 3 am) from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma, a town on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. The journey will take about 21 hours, so you can relax and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
  • Arrive in Kigoma around midnight and check in to your hotel. Have a delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Gombe National Park
  • After breakfast, take a boat ride down the Lake Tanganyika stream to Gombe National Park, the smallest and most remote park in Tanzania. Gombe is famous for its chimpanzee population, which was studied by the legendary primatologist Jane Goodall.
  • Spend the day trekking in the forest and observing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also see other primates, such as baboons, colobus monkeys, and vervet monkeys, as well as various birds and butterflies.
  • Return to Kigoma by boat in the evening and have dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 3: Travel to Arusha
  • Take an early bus to Arusha, the gateway to the northern safari circuit. The journey will take about 18 hours, so you can relax and enjoy the changing landscapes along the way.
  • Arrive in Arusha and check in to your lodge. Have a delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 4: Relax and Explore Arusha
  • This is a free day for you to relax and explore Arusha, a vibrant city with a mix of cultures and attractions. You can visit the Arusha National Park, which offers stunning views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro, or the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre, which showcases the art and history of Tanzania. You can also shop for souvenirs at the local markets or enjoy the nightlife in the city.
  • Have dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 5: Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park or Tarangire National Park
  • After breakfast, drive to either Lake Manyara National Park or Tarangire National Park, depending on the season and the wildlife movement. Both parks are known for their diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, leopards, and more.
  • Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch in the park and marvel at the stunning scenery and wildlife. You will also see the famous tree-climbing lions in Lake Manyara or the giant baobab trees in Tarangire.
  • Drive to Karatu, a town near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and check in to your hotel. Have dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 6: Half-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
  • After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park, the most famous and largest park in Tanzania. Serengeti is home to the great migration, the annual movement of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles across the plains, followed by predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.
  • Enjoy a half-day game drive with a picnic lunch in the park and witness the spectacular wildlife spectacle. You will also see other animals, such as elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and more.
  • Drive to Seronera, the central area of the park, and check in to your camp. Have dinner and overnight at your camp.
Day 7: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park
  • After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive in Serengeti National Park and explore the different regions and habitats of the park. You will see the vast savannahs, the rocky kopjes, the acacia woodlands, and the rivers and swamps. You will also have a chance to see more of the great migration and the predators.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue your game drive until sunset. Have dinner and overnight at your camp.
Day 8: Masai Cultural Tour and Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater
  • After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that encompasses the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera in the world. The crater is a natural sanctuary for over 25,000 animals, including the rare black rhino, the big five, and many other species.
  • On the way, stop at a Masai village and learn about the culture and traditions of the Masai people, the nomadic pastoralists who live in harmony with nature and wildlife. You will also enjoy a Masai dance performance and interact with the locals.
  • Drive to the rim of the crater and check in to your camp. Have dinner and overnight at your camp.
Day 9: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater and Travel to Dar es Salaam
  • After breakfast, descend into the crater and enjoy a 5-6 hour game drive with a picnic lunch in the crater floor. You will see the amazing diversity and density of wildlife in the crater, as well as the stunning scenery of the crater walls and the soda lake.
  • Ascend from the crater and drive back to Arusha. Catch a bus to Dar es Salaam and end your safari adventure.
